Campo De Ourique

Campo de Ourique is a district of Lisbon. It is the heart of the city, between Amoreiras, Estrela and Prazeres. This is a residential neighborhood, but with a vocation for trade very strong and old that fascinates its visitors. Old well-known shops are housed in modern grounds. Everything is in easy reach; groceries, cafés, antique shops and regular shops. You will also find in here the "best chocolate cake in the world"

Is a district with life itself, like a small city within Greater Lisbon. It is often pointed out as the district of Lisbon with a better quality of life, differentiating it from other urban areas.
The week days and weekends does not seem to distinguish themselfs due to the quiet and paradoxically dynamic movement of the people through the neighborhood every day of the week with the same pace. People still greet each others as in old villages.
In Campo de Ourique e is also situated the Santo Condestável Church, emblematic monument of the area of authorship of Vasco Regaleira, the renowned architect of the "new churches". The 28 tram, the most emblematic Lisbon's tram, has the terminal station in this district.
